Course Map & Aid Stations

The perfect warm-up for the Chequamegon Fat Tire races. The race course starts and ends at the Hwy 00 trailhead and goes south using alternate sections of the Birkie Trail, allowing fast speeds and easy passing, and the CAMBA single track to test your riding skills. You start with a 1 1/2 mile “spectator” prime loop. This loop provides a great opportunity for spectators to see their racers before they head out onto the main course. The first rider in each race to complete the loop back to near the start line will receive a $20 prize!

The courses will be marked about a week before the event, giving riders the chance to ride and preview their race course.

Alternate “Wet” Courses – In case of significant rainfall, we have an alternate course available for each race. These alternate courses were used for the 2016 races and follow forest gravel roads, many of which are used for the Chequamegon Fat Tire races. We will use these “wet” courses if rainfall leaves our primary course vulnerable to damage. The alternate courses do include about 3.5 miles of CAMBA single track. Our hope is that the weather cooperates, but we will be ready, rain or shine.

Citizen Racers will turn-around at the first Aid Station and return to the finish alternating between the CAMBA single track and the Birkie ski trail. Sport and Fat Bike Racers will continue on to the second Aid Station at the “Gravel Pit” before turning around and riding both single track and ski trail back to the finish. Expert Racers will continue on to the third Aid Station at “Mosquito Brook” where they will turn around onto the Birkie Trail and begin their ride back toward the “OO” finish line on single track and ski trail. The final 1/2 mile of all races will be on the ski trail, promising an exciting finish!

2013 Seeley Lions Club PreFat (327)Aid Stations will provide energy drink, water, and basic first aid.

The PreFat Event is our largest annual fundraiser. This year, all race proceeds will be used to help us build a new public warming cabin at the Seeley Trails trail head, located about a mile from Seeley. The dog friendly trails are available for x-country skiing, fat biking, mountain biking, hiking, snow shoeing, and running. We’ve already raised more than half the funds needed. We need your help!! Please help us with your donation, to make this cabin a reality. More info is available here.Warming Cabin
